Xtreme Exteriors: Building Expertise and Teamwork in Nashville

This 2-Day Training Built the Expertise of Our Sales Team

As the Midwest’s leading siding contractors and home exterior professionals, expertise is essential for our entire team here at Xtreme Exteriors. While our hardworking siding and roofing contractors are constantly honing their expertise with the various products we install, our brilliant sales team has less hands-on experience.

To better equip our sales team with in-depth knowledge of many of the high-quality products we install, we hosted a 2-day training event just outside Nashville, TN, at our Goodlettsville showroom. This training event was an opportunity for the sales team to hear directly from our manufacturing partners and learn a bit more about their products and even the installation process for many key materials.

The event was an excellent team-building opportunity—and a chance for our sales team to gain exclusive knowledge to help them better assist our customers.

Participants from Across Our Services

At Xtreme Exteriors, our highly trained contractors work with siding, windows, roofing, and more to provide a wide range of home exterior services throughout the Midwest. That range of services also demands in-depth knowledge across many products, each made by some of the industry’s top manufacturers.

For this training event, our goal was to assemble as much training and knowledge from our product partners as we could. Attendees included representatives from many of the top names in the home exterior services industry, including James Hardie, LP Building Solutions, Allura™ USA, Engage Building Products, Owens Corning, Alside, and CertainTeed.

These companies all spoke on their products and industries, sharing an incredible amount of knowledge with our sales team. These companies covered various products, including things our customers may frequently think about themselves—like siding and roof shingles—as well as products only contractors may typically consider—like wood building products and trim.

Firsthand Installation Training

While our sales team has in-depth knowledge across the variety of products we offer, not many of them have direct experience in installing siding, roofing, and other home exterior materials. This training was their chance to get a real firsthand look at the installation process for many of the products we offer.

Our hope with this more involved training program is to better equip our team with the knowledge they need to confidently answer questions from potential customers throughout the sales process, ensuring everyone is well-informed and feels comfortable with the road ahead.

Participation from Across the Xtreme Exteriors Team

For this event, we wanted to involve as much of the Xtreme Exteriors sales team as we could. Ultimately we had 14 of our sales representatives participate in the training event, including members of both the residential and commercial sales teams. Our sales representatives were well accounted for geographically as well, including members of both our Midwest and East Coast teams.

With so many of our team members involved, this was also an opportunity for team building as well. Following the training, we provided a team-building dinner for our sales team to better understand each other, share knowledge, and just connect outside of a work context.

Helping Us Help Our Customers

The goal of our sales team is to connect potential customers with the products and services they need for their home. In some cases, that may mean recommending one specific product, while in others we may determine that their situation is better suited to a different material.

Gaining a more in-depth understanding of the products our installation teams are working with only helps our sales team to better serve our customers. The end result is happier, more informed customers who feel empowered to make the right decisions for their home.

Before

The home’s existing siding was reaching the end of its life, but the homeowners were also unhappy with the overall aesthetic. In particular, they were hoping to give their home more of a unique look that would help their home stand out.

After

The homeowners opted for a deep green Hardie Plank Lap Siding with wood accents around the windows and for the columns on the home’s front porch. The resulting aesthetic was rustic, gorgeous, and undeniably their own!

During the siding replacement process, our team also uncovered sections of rotting wood that we replaced before proceeding. This ensured maximum longevity for their newly installed siding.
