New Siding and Decking from Xtreme Exteriors Transformed the Look of This Home

Our goal at Xtreme Exteriors is to deliver the home remodel of our customers’ dreams through excellent quality and superior customer service. In some cases, we work with homeowners who have been burned by past contractors, and we always aim to go the extra mile in these cases. In today’s Project Profile, we’re sharing a siding and decking home transformation in which the Xtreme Exteriors Shawnee team was able to do just that.

This home exterior remodel was a truly transformative project. Along the way, our team took a number of steps to ensure the whole home—including the exterior we worked on and the lawn and landscaping we protected—looked as beautiful as possible by the time we left the property.

Let’s take a look at this project.

Our clients for this project were a pair of homeowners in Belton, MO, just outside of Kansas City. They were hoping to remodel the exterior of their home by replacing the siding and decking, creating an exterior that would be both beautiful and functional.

Previously, these homeowners had worked with a contractor they hired to complete a patch and repair job for their siding. Unfortunately, this contractor took their down payment and disappeared from the job site before completing the work. They decided to rely on referrals to remodel their home instead, and a past Xtreme Exterior client recommended our work.

Our team was called in to fully replace this home’s siding and deck. The siding had reached the end of its lifespan and had a typical amount of wood rot toward the bottom of the siding panels. The decking system featured similar issues with rotting and damage on the floors of the deck.

While previously they had hoped to patch up and repaint their siding, ultimately they agreed with our assessment that a full siding replacement would serve them better in the long run.

The Challenges: Protecting the Property and Providing Peace of Mind

Our team at Xtreme Exteriors treats every property we work on as if it were our own home. This means ensuring all portions of the property are protected from potential damage and even adjusting our usual process where necessary.

Our clients had a few areas of the home that they were concerned about protecting. There were several sentimental plants on the property that were given to our client before her mother passed away. For the husband’s part, areas of the lawn were particularly important to protect, especially sloped areas that had been harder to grow.

We ensured all the landscaping on the property was well-protected and even moved our cut station to the driveway to minimize traffic through the grass.

Lastly, we wanted to give these customers confidence in working with our contractors. While we came through a reliable referral, they were still somewhat wary after the previous contractor took their down payment and abandoned the project. Our team decided we would not take payment until the project began, bringing greater peace of mind to our clients and giving them full confidence in Xtreme Exteriors.

With our plans laid out for us, our team pulled permits for the deck, making needed adjustments from the city for the additional supports we would be including. We then set to work, being mindful of the landscaping throughout the property.

The end result was a full transformation of this home’s siding and decking. We used James Hardie lap siding in pearl gray, and Fiberon Concordia decking in Warm Siena. We also installed gutter guards as part of this project, providing improved protection against debris for the home’s gutter system.

The homeowners were delighted with our work and our team, headed by Project Manager Erick Hernandez, was glad to receive a thoughtful thank-you note after the project was completed. We hope our clients will enjoy their new siding and decking for years to come, and we’ll be happy to work with them in the future.
