These Window Before and Afters Will Help You Choose the Best Replacement Windows for Your Home

When it comes to installing new windows in your home, it can be difficult to identify the best replacement windows that will deliver the look and features you want. At Xtreme Exteriors, we totally understand this challenge, and we think it can be helpful to provide examples of how previous clients transformed their homes.

For today’s post, we’re taking a look through previous Xtreme Exterior projects and highlighting the before and after images. In particular, we’re looking at how new windows elevated the looks of these homes, each in a slightly different way. We hope this can help provide some inspiration on the best replacement windows for your remodel!

Nixa, MO: Dual-Color Pella Lifestyle Windows

Making a final decision between window styles, colors, or designs can be a challenge. What if you’re torn between two final options and you can’t settle on just one? Well, our first featured product shows that sometimes, you can get the best of both worlds.

Before

The previous windows in this home had character, but they were certainly showing their age. The wood frames were warped in several places, and the paint on these windows was chipped and damaged. In addition, the homeowners thought that the design, while unique, was just too dated—and also limited how well you could see through the windows from the inside.

After

Our clients for this project selected Pella Lifestyle windows, which allowed for plenty of light while adding security and soundproofing. For the specific design, they were torn between the portabello color, which worked well with the aesthetic of their home’s exterior, and the simpler white, which went with the interior design. Our Nixa team was able to come through with the perfect compromise, with windows that were aluminum clad on the outside with bright white wood on the interior.

These windows really tied the whole home together, inside and out!

Alside Mezzo: A Stunning Transformation

Windows are more than just transparent barriers between your interior and the exterior world—they’re a critical component of your home’s comfort, energy efficiency, and visual identity. A strategic window replacement can transform not just how your home looks, but how it performs. The Fordland, MO project perfectly illustrates this potential for dramatic metamorphosis.

Before
The original windows in this home were functional but unremarkable. Standard white frames with thin profiles blended into the home’s facade, providing basic protection but lacking any distinctive character. These windows served their fundamental purpose, but they weren’t making any design statements or contributing to the home’s overall aesthetic potential.

After
Our team at Xtreme Exteriors saw an opportunity to elevate this home’s appearance and performance with the Alside Mezzo double-hung windows. By installing 21 windows with Low E and Energy Star ratings in a crisp white finish, we transformed the property’s look and efficiency. The broader, more substantial window frames immediately created a sense of depth and sophistication. Complemented by carefully selected shutters, the windows turned what was once a plain exterior into a standout property that captures attention and delivers exceptional energy performance.

From Function Over Form—to Both

Windows have a key role to play when it comes to your home, keeping drafts at bay and much more. But that doesn’t mean they can’t add to your home’s curb appeal, too. This project shows how our clients went from simple, purely functional windows to stylized windows that made a statement.

After

Our clients determined that the best replacement windows for them needed to add a touch of elegance, both with the windows themselves and with the addition of some much-needed details. Our team installed new windows with broader, light-colored trim, then added some gorgeous shutters to complement the updated appearance of the home. The end result looked like a totally different home.

Before

While the original windows of this home certainly performed their role, it would be hard to say they did so beautifully. The simple white, thin frames meshed with the home’s look, but didn’t do much to add a pop of style to the overall aesthetic. Xtreme Exteriors set out to change that!

A Complementary Selection

Another homeowner we worked with wanted to replace their home’s siding with a new color. To deliver a cohesive look, it made sense to replace the windows, too. Take a look at how these replacement windows—especially the trim!—really bring out the best in this home’s new color palette.

Before

Prior to working with Xtreme Exteriors, this home had yellow siding. While the homeowners loved the look for years, when it came time to replace, they were ready for a new aesthetic. They chose a mint green color of siding, and they wanted to enhance that look as well as possible. As the windows were also older, pairing the new siding with new windows made a lot of sense here.

After

The new set of windows kept a similar style but with updated trim that really made the transformation of this home complete. The dark gray color provides the perfect transition from the white windows to the gray-green siding, and the result was a totally cohesive appearance.
